PR and strategic business communication consultancy Priority Communications has promoted its GM, Karen Lim to the role of MD. Lim has been with Priority since 1999. During her time with the company, she managed its various transformational phases in areas including strategic planning, business development, talent acquisition, client portfolio management and diversification, and the development of new services, as she transitioned through her roles from an accounts executive, to director, to GM and now MD.

According to the agency, Lim’s appointment allows its founder and executive director, Elaine Chuah, to focus on driving sustainable, long-term growth, coaching and mentoring the next generation of leaders, and futureproofing the agency to ensure the business continues to be relevant and ready for tomorrow’s opportunities.

Prior to joining Priority, Lim worked in the advertising and media industries. She was an assistant news producer at a broadcast station before moving into journalism, where she wrote for a business magazine. She then worked at an advertising agency, working with clients from various industries including FMCG, healthcare and property.

Chuah said: “[Lim’s] insight and understanding of the industry, her unwavering commitment to service excellence, and her passion, creativity, and responsiveness are paramount in driving the business impact and the continued growth of our client portfolios. Her strong understanding of the purpose and values of our firm will continue to anchor our team of leaders for Priority’s continued progress and success in the future.”

Priority was established in 1996, and has a solid client base comprising brands such as Dell, Samsung, Aruba Networks and social platforms and super apps such as LinkedIn, TikTok and Grab. It also has a presence in the lifestyle luxury brands, retail travel, finance and healthcare industries servicing brands such as Tiffany & Co., Fendi, Valentino, Loewe, Audemars Piguet, Bell & Ross, and Franklin Templeton. According to Priority, it helps develop comprehensive and integrated communication strategies to ensure its clients' campaigns create conversations, connect communities and champion changes that matter, beyond PR.

Separately, in 2019, Priority teamed up with five other agencies in ASEAN, forming a partnership of integrated independent communications agencies named PROI ASEAN. The partnership brought together PR and communications agencies in the region to deliver communications solutions and is the ASEAN arm of PROI Worldwide.
