Wondering what to do with all your loose 10-cent coins? It looks like Pizza Hut wants them with a newly launched special deal that will allow customers to purchase any pizza and bring a second home for just 10 cents.

All consumers need to do is to bring a 10-cent coin from the first series (1967 – 1985), featuring the Crowned Seahorse, to one of its 14 selected outlets on 5 June between 2pm to 4pm to be eligible.

"Back in the 80s, 10 cents could get you a lot: ice lollies, a call on the payphone, and more. Now, we’re bringing that nostalgia back to life, showing that for just 10 cents, you can enjoy another delicious pizza," it said in a statement.

The deal is available for delivery and takeaway orders and customers can take home pizzas from the favourite, classic, and specialty ranges.

To commemorate Pizza Hut’s establishment in Singapore in 1981, the fast-food giant is also throwing a throwback party on 8 June for a blast from the past.

From 12pm to 5pm, shoppers can participate in a variety of games and challenges, and even stand a chance to bring home Pizza Hut vouchers worth SG$200.

This is not the first time Pizza Hut has paid homage to different eras. Recently, Pizza Hut Hong Kong and Edelman introduced a limited-edition lucky bun and free Cheung Chau ferry rides to spread blessings of peace and health to Hongkongers. This movement was in celebration of the annual Tai Ping Ching Chiu, aka the Cheung Chau Bun Festival (Bun Festival).

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a spokesperson from Edelman said it recognised the deep cultural significance and heritage that resonates with the people of Hong Kong. By embracing these elements, it has crafted itself into a vital part of the city's Bun Festival.

"Our aim is to infuse fresh ideas and energy into this celebration, resonating particularly with our Gen Z audience who have a deep appreciation for such cultural moments," the spokesperson added.
