Pizza Hut HK and iProspect HK celebrate Halloween with spooky face hunt

Pizza Hut Hong Kong has partnered with iProspect Hong Kong to celebrate Halloween with a hidden spooky face hunt as part of latest creative campaign. 

This campaign encourages customers to embark on a fun, interactive search for hidden spooky faces nestled within the pizza crust and melted cheeses. This creative approach not only highlights Pizza Hut's delicious offerings but also allows customers to rediscover their favorite food through a fun lens, making each bite a delightful surprise.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a spokesperson from dentsu Hong Kong said the campaign employs a straightforward yet very relevant creative concept that piques the curiosity of Pizza Hut's target customers, encouraging them to visit the store to create their own spooky pizza faces.

Targeting pizza lovers and Halloween enthusiasts, the campaign runs from 26 October to 1 November, with out-of-home (OOH) advertisements strategically located in high-traffic areas in Central and promotion on social media. 

In addition to the social and OOH efforts, Pizza Hut is introducing a Halloween special edition: spider-shaped cheese sticks. These fun and festive treats aim to make it easy for fans to celebrate the spooky season.

The naming of the cheese sticks is pun intended; called "藍芝蛛點點棒," the term "藍芝" refers to the blue cheese sauce dip, while "芝蛛" shares the same pronunciation as "spider" in Cantonese.

As part of the campaign, a “spider-catching” game has been launched on Pizza Hut's social platform, where participants can play to win garlic bread for free, adding another layer of fun to the Halloween experience.

Renee Chan, director of customer experience and marketing, Pizza Hut Hong Kong, said: “Our aim is to keep things fun and eye-catching, ensuring that our products leave a lasting impression. We want our customers to enjoy our food in the most innovative ways possible, making every bite an exciting experience.”

Huey Wong, creative director, dentsu Hong Kong, added: “Halloween is all about embracing the unexpected, and we wanted to turn every pizza into a canvas of spooky delight. By encouraging customers to discover their own surprises, we aim to transform their usual food experience into something extraordinary. It’s not just about enjoying delicious food; it’s about creating memorable moments that celebrate the spirit of the season.”
