OPPO Indonesia has collaborated with Indonesian filmmaker Riri Riza and Indonesian film producer Mira Lesmana to release a new mystery romance short film titled "Kau, Rabu, dan Perkara2 Sepintas Lalu". The 30-minute film features Indonesian Nicholas Saputra while it was filmed from the lens of OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G.
Filmed in dark colour shades, "Kau, Rabu, dan Perkara2 Sepintas Lalu" is a cinematic story about the complex world of creation. This short drama romance mystery tells the story of Rhun, played by Saputra. Rhun is a 35-year-old well-known writer who needs to finish his latest novel as soon as possible then gets carried away in an unexpected situation in the film.
OPPO Indonesia's CMO, Patrick Owen explained, that this collaboration is a form of OPPO's commitment to supporting the creative industry, including the film industry in the country. "We are very proud to be collaborating with Riza, a proud Indonesian filmmaker who is also a CineFinders figure to present films that are all shot using the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G smartphone camera," Owen added.
OPPO Indonesia told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that the Riza and Lesmana have always been known in the Indonesian film industry – their latest film even reached the cinemas. On the other hand, Riza also previously collaborated with OPPO and filmed another short film, titled 'You and Me in Low Angle'.
Riza explained that this is his second time collaborating with OPPO and filming with OPPO smartphones. Taking pictures in low light shades in order to show an atmosphere of unexpected romance, mystery and emotions in this film, was certainly not easy.
"Dark colour tones are often an obstacle in displaying the characters' emotions. But with the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G smartphone, these obstacles can be overcome. This allowed me to get images that give this film a touch of emotion," Riza said.
"After previously launching the short film 'You and me in low angle', this year I tried to explore various shooting techniques with the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G smartphone through the film Kau, Rabu, dan Perkara2 Sepintas Lalu," Riza added.
“Designing the production for this short film was a lot of fun because we had the freedom to design unique story ideas and create a production that wasn't burdened by the crew or big budget. Today's technological advances allow anyone to make films with a smartphone and make it easier for young filmmakers in the process of taking pictures for their films," Lesmana said.
Separately, OPPO released a series of short documentaries profiling its employees through its "Inspiring people" series ahead of its 18th anniversary in September. The series comprises four bite-sized videos of OPPO employees from across the globe, with stories steeped in diversity and how the different individuals embody OPPO’s “Inspiration Ahead” aspirations.
All these stories told from OPPO’s dedicated team members across the globe paint a picture of OPPO’s celebrated diverse culture which extends across numerous continents. Each OPPO employee embodies the spirit of OPPO’s motto of “Inspiration Ahead” with the individuals demonstrating how they are able to adapt the slogan as their work DNA, driving the brand forward into its 18th year of bringing technology to mankind.
