AliExpress names OMD global media agency for 2021

Alibaba Group's AliExpress has appointed Omnicom Media Group's OMD as its global media agency for 2021.
OMD Shanghai led the pitch that demonstrated the agency's innovative use of data to understand consumers and media, ultimately winning them the business. The agency will handle media planning and buying for all AliExpress products through specialised teams in the key markets of Spain, Brazil, Poland, South Korea and Saudi Arabia, with the central team based in Shanghai.
"We were impressed with OMD’s strategic capabilities and rigorous planning process that they were able to weave into their creative media solutions," said Christina Lu, head of marketing for AliExpress.
"I am confident this partnership will help us to continue delivering meaningful experiences to our customers in the global markets we serve."
