Mawarni Adam's marketing consultancy sets foot in SG, names advisory board

Mawarni Adam has expanded her branding, marketing and communications consultancy, Marqetr, into Singapore. According to her, Singapore was chosen because of its strategic location, a competitive workforce, pro-business environment, and forward looking economic policies, which makes it the world's gateway to Asia, and Asia's gateway to the world.
This comes a few months after Mawarni revived her consultancy, officially incorporating it in December 2020. Previously known as M Consulting Asia, Mawarni rebranded it to Marqetr this year. The consultancy focuses on strategy and consulting, outsourcing and training, and matching solutions for business needs. Mawarni was previously Berjaya Sompo Insurance's head of brand, marketing communications and customer experience and was with the company for more than two years.
The expansion into Singapore is in line with the vision of the business to scale its presence and serve clients regionally and globally. "While this expansion signifies an ambitious strategic move for our business growth, we will however, continue to operate based on an asset light, digital-driven and lean business model, and be open to collaboration with strategic partners and independent consultants globally," the consultancy said in a statement.
It aims to bring together the best knowledge, technology and know-how from a diverse group of experts. By doing so, Mawarni believes it will enable Marqetr to stay current and relevant, be more agile and flexible, and continue to deliver strategic advisory and planning effectiveness, as well as sufficient and valuable oversight on execution and reporting for its clients.
Earlier this week, Marqetr also unveiled its inaugural board of advisors, with each individual being carefully selected to include senior leaders and experts from a diverse marketing, advertising, communications, creative and commercial background.
The individuals are Greg Paull, principal and co-founder of R3 Worldwide; Lynette Ang, former CMO of Sentosa Development Corporation Singapore; Nicky Lim, former group CEO of dentsu Malaysia; Siegtraund Teh, chief growth officer at Unilever Marketplace; and Fiorenza Plinio, global head of creative excellence at Cannes Lions.
"We rely heavily on the advice of people like them to maintain quality services that drive and advocate our clients on creativity, innovation and transformation for their brands, and help them to be customer centric, purpose-driven and profit-driven in the process," the consultancy said.
