The Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA) has elected Claudian Navin Stanislaus as its new president, and Javed Jafri as VP for the new 2022 to 2024 term. Stanislaus was most recently elected vice president during the 2020 to 22 term.

Stanislaus (pictured left) ios from Baba Products, where he is head of communication and consumer marketing. Meanwhile, Jafri is the media and digital hub lead for Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos at Unilever. In their new roles, Stanislaus and Jafri will be leading MAA’s newly-elected council members from Coca Cola Far East, Genting Malaysia, GrabTaxi Holdings, Heineken Malaysia, Maxis Broadband, Mondelez Malaysia Sales, Nestle Products, P&G, and Tune Group.

Stanislaus said that the MAA has always played an advocacy role on behalf of advertisers in Malaysia, engaging the various ministries and regulatory bodies, as well as fellow industry stakeholders; from media owners, media and creative agencies and digital players. This is to ensure that the channels of communication and cooperation are always active in the pursuit for a conducive environment for brands to thrive without compromising consumers’ rights.

“This is something we hope to build on in the coming term as the past couple of years has restricted greater working relations somewhat”, Stanislaus added. He added that the MAA will also be reaching out to other trade associations, and seeking opportunities to work together on initiatives that can benefit the industry, especially the SME sector, which will be critical to the growth of Malaysia’s economy.
