Malaysia Airlines unveils weekend deals with Visa partnership

Malaysia Airlines (MAB) has tied up with Visa to for travel offers through its MH Visa Weekend Deals. Under the partnership, all Visa credit, debit and prepaid cardholders can enjoy additional discounts of up to 20% off all-inclusive fares on both Business and Economy class travel globally on selected markets.The discounts are only applicable on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 13 January 2019. MAB's CEO Izham Ismail said the airline is one of the first in the Asia Pacific region to partner with Visa on a signature weekend promotion for its consumers.A+M has reached out to MAB for additional information about its marketing strategies for the weekend deals."Visa is a globally recognised brand used by almost all our customers and the partnership is very much in line with our goal of offering customers more value through innovative promotions and strategic partnerships,” he added.Meanwhile, Visa's country manager for Malaysia, Ng Kong Boon, said, "We believe that partnering our national carrier in Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines will greatly benefit our cardholders as they can now assess a range of exciting travel deals through the MH Visa Weekend Deals.”He added that travel is an "extremely popular" activity for Malaysians and its Global Travel Intentions study shows that Malaysians have taken an average of 5.4 international trips in the last two years, which is higher than the Asia Pacific and global average.Earlier this year, the airline named chief commercial officer Arved von zur Muehlen to the role of group CMO.
