L'Oréal North Asia names brand GM for La Roche Posay and Cerave based out of HK

L'Oréal has promoted Ruby Chun as brand general manager for La Roche Posay and Cerave for the North Asia region. According to her LinkedIn account, Chun was promoted in June. She told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that her main duties include driving the business of La Roche Posay and Cerave in North Asia encompassing China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. She also works with headquarters to drive right pipeline and assets for these markets.
She added that the regional office is working with headquarters in Paris and New York to help drive business in the region. Currently, her team is working on a number of upcoming campaigns, including the Single's Day in the Chinese market and new product launch plans. Chun joined the company in 2019 as marketing director. Before her promotion, she was brand director at L'Oréal. She also worked for Johnson & Johnson for more than 10 years with her last position at the group being senior marketing manager based in Singapore. In the position, she handled Beauty Care and Self Care Franchise in Asia Pacific.
Prior to that, she was based in her native South Korea as marketing manager from February 2014 to October 2015. She also help other positions at Johnson & Johnson, including group brand manager, senior brand manager, franchise manager and brand manager.
In a recent campaign, L'Oréal Hong Kong partnered with New Media Group to roll out LUXE BEAUTY FLASH - a week long online shopping festival. Brands under L'Oréal provided exclusive discounts and product sets on the online stores, while their physical stores became experiential salons where beauty consultants will guide and help customers to navigate the brand’s online store and make the purchases. KOLs such as Elva Ni, Manson Cheung, MC Cheung and Emily Lau were invited to interact with audiences and give out promo codes and gifts during Facebook Lives.
Meanwhile, Jennie Ma, GM of L'Oréal Luxe in Malaysia, also relocated to Paris after more than two years in Kuala Lumpur to oversee Lancôme as GM for the North Asia zone. In a LinkedIn post, Ma (pictured) said it has been “an intense 30 days” of induction, language classes, team meetings, and IT setup, among others. She also thanked the L'Oréal international mobility team for making her transition as smooth as possible.
L'Oréal Luxe comprises 26 brands including Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Biotherm, Shu Uemura, Urban Decay, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani. L'Oréal Luxe’s president Cyril Chapuy said on its website that the division builds upon the fundamentals of strong desirable brands, star products and long-lasting pillars nurtured by superior quality and innovation. It has also been doubling down on its sustainability efforts, collecting 11 million empty products for recycling since 2009 through the Kiehl’s recycling programmes worldwide.
