Jero goes on comical mission to teach manners in Tenaga Nasional's Raya film

Tenaga Nasional (TNB) has released a comical Raya film, and this time, Jero the cat is taking center stage.
In the film, Jero is on a mission to teach viewers the importance of good manners, courtesy, respect and appropriateness. The film starts with Jero on a rooftop that later transforms itself to a solar-powered drone.
Don't miss: Ramadan ads in Malaysia muted due to geo-political tensions. How are ad agencies coping?
On the drone, he witnesses a young boy who attempts to open up his green packet in front of the aunty who gifted it. Instead of telling off the boy, Jero speaks kindly and tells the boy that he should open the green packet when he gets home.
Jero is later informed of another young boy named Irfan who lacks manners during Hari Raya. In the film, Irfan didn't pay respects to an uncle while visiting, did not arrange his shoes outside of the house nicely, is always on his phone and did not eat the food his uncle prepared for his guests.
Jero then takes matters in his own paws and advises Irfan to seek forgiveness form the uncle who appeared upset during Hari Raya.
The film ends with a reminder to be mindful of electricity usage and to turn off switches when not in use. It added that consumers should also be respectful to the Earth.
It also showed Jero jumping into an electrical vehicle and driving around town as he reminds viewers of TNB's 75-year history.
Jero is a character that has been appearing in TNB's festive ads for the past few years. He captured hearts in past ads as a side character but is now stepping into the limelight behind this year's celebration.
This festive film was done in collaboration with Chariot Agency, who worked closely with audio production house Pitch Audio+Magic on the ad.
The ad is available across Tenaga Nasional's YouTube and Instagram pages.
This is just one of the few Raya films released this year that taps on comedy and manners. Another brand that took a similar approach is Saji Malaysia.
In its Hari Raya short film titled "Minyak Maaf", a play on the phrase Mintak maaf (seek forgiveness), a man named Abdul is seen angering villagers with his jokes and antics everywhere he goes.
An old woman named Marsya, who fell victim to Abdul's pranks, made a wish that every person Abdul angers will disappear from his life.
One by one, villagers disappear, and Abdul is left lonely. He seeks forgiveness from Marsya and the villagers he's angered, and prepared a hearty Raya meal to bring joy back into their lives and the village.
