Indomie-flavoured ice cream an official product and not a prank, says Indofood

Fancy an Indomie ice cream cone? Indonesian food manufacturer Indofood, the brand behind popular instant noodle brand Indomie, has launched an exclusive Choc Rocks Cone with the inclusion of Indomie in it, and no, it is not an April Fool's joke. 

The whacky limited edition ice cream was released by Indofood as a variant of its popular Choc Rocks Cone ice cream and can be found in all Indomaret Fresh stores or online at Click Indomaret till 24 April. 

According to the brand, the ice cream is "not a prank" but rather, a new product from Indofood ice cream. Who would have thought?

Indofood added in its social posts that the collaboration between Choc Rocks Cone ice cream and Indomie produces a "creamy, sweet and savory taste." Reports from netizens who have tried the product also note that the ice cream has the classic Indomie Goreng flavour profile as well as instant noodles which have been included.

While a unique food collaboration, Indomie continues to remain very popular globally. Just last year, Indomie retained itself as the best brand in Indonesia with a score of 66.8, according to YouGov’s 2022 Global Best Brand Rankings. Last year, the brand scored 65.5 on YouGov’s Best Brands Rankings 2021 and also topped the charts. 

A separate study by Brand Finance also listed Indomie as one of the top 10 strongest Indonesian brands, scoring it 84.8 out of 100. The instant noodle brand was also the most talked about in Indonesia in 2020. Additionally, Kantar's Brand Footprint study listed Indomie as the top FMCG brand in Indonesia for 2019 and 2020.
