Hong Kong media broadcaster i-CABLE Communications has renamed its subsidiary free TV Channel 77 as “HOY TV” with a new channel logo and refreshing directions. The rebranding campaign aims to provide audiences with quality productions and diversified programmes, as well as telling Hong Kong’s great stories to the public.
The TV channel has kicked off the large-scale rebranding event on 19 October 2022 with Hong Kong’s chief secretary Chan Kwok Ki, the company’s vice chairman Patrick Tsang and Cantopop singer Kelly Chan.
The group will be the exclusive broadcaster of “The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022” in Hong Kong, bringing coverage of the Asian Games to Hong Kong sports lovers for seven consecutive games. The company said it will pursue with professionalism and deliver this highly anticipating event, including winning moments of the Hangzhou Asian Games to the Hong Kong audience.
The TV Channel was previously named as Fantastic TV Chinese Channel and Hong Kong Open TV.
Previously in March this year, i-CABLE Communications has appointed Wong See-yuen as CEO, effective from 7 March 2022. Currently a senior advisor of the group and CEO of subsidiary i-CABLE Network Operations, Wong is responsible for the general operations of i-CABLE Communications in his new position. A statement provided by i-CABLE Communications has shown that Wong's monthly salary is HK$280,000. He is also entitled to performance-based discretionary bonus and other benefits determined by the company.
Wong is also currently a board member of Ocean Park Corporation, a mentor for Cyberport Mentorship Services and a member of the Social Enterprise Advisory Committee for the Hong Kong government.
