HSBC One is bringing esports to the world of fashion by introducing Esports Zone at the upcoming cultural event ComplexCon Hong Kong, which is set to return to the city from 21 to 23 March.
In collaboration with local designer brand Offgod:Tate, the bank produced a collection of limited-edition fashion items set to debut exclusively at ComplexCon Hong Kong 2025. The collection blends the distinct styles and innovative spirit of both brands, highlighting the dynamic relationship between esports and fashion in a bold and playful approach that is sure to set the fashion trend ablaze.
Centred around the universe of esports, the collection tells the story of Offgod:Tate's iconic character “Skully”evolving into a brand-new robotic creation, "Machine Skull." The designers drew inspiration from ergonomic gaming devices and controllers, and sci-fi mechas such as Gundam and Maschinen Krieger to create a bold and imaginative "Machine Skull."
The collection features nine exclusive items, including graphic tee, esports jersey, work jacket, sweatpants, cap, tote bag, socks, 3D keychain, and the designers’ iconic 3D headphone accessories. Each piece allows for versatile styling, showcasing the best of your individuality. Collection look book features rising local trendsetters and singers Nancy Kwai and Gordon Flanders, who bring their individuality and energy to the pieces. Set within the iconic HSBC Main Building, the duo presents the collection in their own distinct styles, further emphasising the versatility of the items.
Designers Tate Mok and Andrew Mok expressed their enthusiasm about collaborating with a bank for the first time, "HSBC One align with us on our penchant for exploration on multiple disciplines. We are grateful for the creative freedom provided in this partnership, which has challenged us to think outside the box. Our headphone sculpture for this collection is designed in a new-found format, and we designed each piece of items with a lot of attention paid to the material, patchwork, silhouettes, and even the exact shade of red used. Everything has been thought out and put into the design with intention."
HSBC One x Offgod:Tate will be available exclusively at Complex Marketplace, with HSBC One customers enjoying a special 50% discount. Additionally, a three-meter "Machine Skull" installation will feature in the HSBC One Esports Zone, showcasing the design concept of this collaboration and providing a photo opportunity for fashion and esports enthusiasts.
Furthermore, HSBC One is also intent on bringing more exclusive opportunities to local esports fans this year through its partnership with ComplexCon. The first-team members of the Korean LCK team Gen.G Esports — Kiin, Canyon, Chovy, Ruler, and Duro — will debut in Hong Kong at the HSBC One Esports Zone, participating in matches and engaging with fans.
The "ComplexCon LoL Cup" tournament will be hosted at the Esports Zone on 22and 23March, allowing local LoL players to compete for the chance to face off against Gen.G Esports, bringing together esports enthusiasts to experience the excitement and thrill of live competitive gaming.
Supported by Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund by the Hong Kong government (Mega ACE Fund), the latest edition of ComplexCon Hong Kong aims to offer the public an exhilarating celebration of street fashion, art, music, and global pop culture, including performances from local, Asian, and international brands and organisations, exclusive collaborations, limited-edition merchandise, panel discussions, a marketplace, and a food festival.
