Indonesian meta human technology company, GENEXYZ has closed its seed funding of US$1 million, led by East Ventures which it aims to use for the expansion of business outreach in the Southeast Asian market as well as to develop more interactive technology to connect with relevant communities.
Investors such as Emtek, Future Creative Network (FCN), MDI, Trinity Optima, and Massive Music also participated in the round of funding.
Founded in 2022 to respond to limitations in content, interactions, and influencer function, GENEXYX is a platform that allows its clients to interact with virtual influencers and meta-humans.

By utilising meta-humans, GENEXYZ is better able to ensure credible, consistent, and scalable interactions to create a technology driven solution for brands, according to a statement by the company.
“This is a compelling validation that our vision of introducing metahumans and virtual influencers aligns seamlessly with the digital media landscape,” said Belinda Luis, co-founder and CEO of GENEXYZ.
“We remain committed to further enhancing the expertise and capabilities of our team across diverse industry domains while fortifying our existing community, distribution channels, and ecosystem,” she continued.
GENEXYZ launched several new IPs for its meta humans which include the recent launch of a male character that will be used for various branding and educational purposes as the company focuses on developing its businesses globally.
As part of its efforts to scale its business, GENEXYZ has collaborated with Eatlah through a singing virtual influencer named Lavcaca who loves singing local music and is passionate about local cuisine. GENEXYZ has also partnered with brands such as Tokopedia, Tiket.com and Nivea to name a few.
“With the continuous growth of the digital media landscape, we believe that the futuristic innovations brought forth by GENEXYZ hold tremendous potential to empower brands in capturing immense opportunities for consumer interactions in the future,” said Gavin Adrian, investment professional at East Venture.
“We firmly believe that GENEXYZ is here to revolutionize marketing solutions and create positive impact on Indonesian society,” he elaborated.
Virtual influencers have been gaining popularity in recent months. Recently, Dentsu Singapore expanded its global virtual identity solution, Dentsu VI, and brought on board well known virtual influencer, Rae. Rae will be joining its ready-made roster after it was awarded exclusive usage rights by CapitaLand Investment (CLI), the creators of Rae.
Dentsu has been one of CLI's innovation partners in creating Rae. The digital being has now grown to become one of Asia’s most popular virtual influencers, with more than one million followers across Weibo and Instagram, and has fronted campaigns for many global brands. Dentsu will manage Rae's image, evolution and usage globally (outside China) and will be overseeing Rae's business development efforts as well as talent management.
