Geneco has appointed PRecious Communications as its agency for a period of 12 month. The agency will be tasked to handle consumer outreach, thought leadership with the purpose of getting more locals acquainted with the brand and build affinity. The appointment comes as the firm looks to position itself as a clean energy provision, with a varied approach to renewable energy.
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands that PRecious Communications' appointment comes after a pitch and the agency was appointed due to its reach and scale across the SEA region. PRecious experience in ESG and sustainability also reaches back to it's beginnings, starting with Evernote replacing paper notebooks and since then reaching from Venture Capital firms focusing on investments in companies driving sustainability (Amasia), to being the PR partner for the Asia Clean Energy Summit; conseptualising Asia Pacific Breweries' #ReduceYourWasteline campaign, to directly working with one of the leading global companies driving renewable energy transition (BayWa r.e.)
“We are delighted to have appointed PRecious Communications as our public relations agency. With their holistic approach and extensive knowledge across the consumer and business fronts locally as well as across Asia, we are confident that they can propel Geneco as the frontier thought leader for sustainable energy by leveraging our positioning as Singapore's number one residential electricity retailer,” Alex Chan, marketing head said.
Last year, Geneco reappointed Muse & Motif to handle corporate communications, social media and issues/crisis management for a year following a closed-door pitch. Last year the brand also appointed Lim Han Kwang as chief executive officer (CEO). Simultaneously, he also took the role of group head (retail, regulation and renewables) of YTL PowerSeraya.
