Bangkok-based gaming and esports media company Ampverse has partnered with Thai esports team Bacon Time, allowing Ampverse to have full commercial representation of the team. Under the partnership, Ampverse can help Bacon Time forge brand sponsorships, merchandise lines, and other unique intellectual properties.
Founded in 2017, Bacon Time made a name for itself when it won the 2017 Arena of Valor (AOV) Thailand Pro League and placed second globally at the 2018 AOV World Championships as Thailand’s national team. According to a press statement, the esports team has a highly engaged fanbase of nearly two million social media followers. It has also recently expanded its business line with a the sale of its merchandises.
Ampverse aims to engage and develop top gaming talent to create partnership opportunities with brands, game publishers and agencies. Since its launch in Southeast Asia last year, Ampverse has worked with over 25 advertisers and brands such as Samsung, Garnier Men, Shell, DTAC, Tesco Lotus and Electronic Arts. Last November, it brought two individuals on board its leadership team - Jenny Hall as director for sales and brand partnerships for Southeast Asia, and Sutthathep Makmee as head of sales for Thailand.
Matthias Beyer, chief content officer at Ampverse said it sees a "huge opportunity" with this partnership to raise the gaming and esports bar. "As the growth of gaming continues to accelerate in the region, we’re well on the way to build a powerful community of gaming and esports influencers and create attention-grabbing entertainment with brands," he added.
Bacon Time’s team captain, Sirichai (Remix) Sukpain said the team wants a partner who can help it when it comes to team management, merchandising and sponsorship opportunities, and not just a commercial helper.
"We are very honoured to have Ampverse become a part of the Bacon Time story and we are equally proud to be a part of it. Now that many things are set, we would like to pay back the loyalty of our fans, who have been supporting us throughout the years," he added.
