Delivery platform foodpanda has teamed up with dating app Coffee Meets Bagel (CMB) to launch an activation in Singapore from 1 to 31 October for International Coffee Day.

The two companies have “created a CMB profile for Pau-Pau, foodpanda’s pink ambassador where Pau-Pau will be treating CMB users to a free cup of coffee. Consumers who are able to spot Pau-Pau in their daily batch of potential matches in the app’s suggested section, and read through his profile, will then be able to get an exclusive discount code for SG$5 off pick-up orders. Users can use the code at any merchants offering pick-up on foodpanda, applicable for the first 1000 redemptions.

Confirming the news to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a spokesperson from foodpanda said: "Pau-Pau’s fun persona allows foodpanda to continually explore novel and fun ways to engage users in ways that remain relevant to them".

"In this instance, by providing free pick-up vouchers, foodpanda hopes that CMB users will be able to use them to meet up with new friends that they have matched with on the app," she said.

This isn't foodpanda's first foray into a dating app scene. In February this year, foodpanda Singapore partnered with Tinder to offer users the pau-fect Valentine's Day this year. Consumers who matched with foodpanda's mascot, Pau-Pau, on Tinder, received an exclusive SG$5 foodpanda voucher code that can be used across all foodpanda services - including restaurant delivery, pick-up, pandamart, and foodpanda shops.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has asked additional questions to the foodpanda team.
