foodpanda brings free deliveries to 'most boring' neighbourhood in SG

Food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda is bringing some excitement to Singapore’s “most boring” neighbourhood by treating all 53,000 households in Yew Tee to unlimited free deliveries with a complimentary one-month pandapro subscription.

All Yew Tee dwellers will receive a unique pandapro subscription code delivered to their front doors or letterboxes, which allows them to unlock unlimited free deliveries and surprise deals across food and groceries.

For those with FOMO, not to worry - as they may also nominate their neighbourhood to win complimentary pandapro subscriptions in a nationwide giveaway running from 12 to 31 August.

“Singaporeans might have strong opinions about food and their neighbourhoods, but there’s one thing we can all agree on: Yew Tee could use a little more excitement. That’s why we’re adding a burst of flavour by delivering the best local eats straight to their doorsteps for free. We hope this gives Yew Tee residents a reason to love their neighbourhood," said Darryl Chua, marketing director at foodpanda Singapore.

Based on online opinion, Yew Tee is dubbed as a neighbourhood with “nothing to do”, said foodpanda in a statement.

This surprise is intended to challenge those misguided perceptions by showcasing the area’s vibrant abundance of local eateries and hidden restaurant gems, it said.

Now, residents can look forward to a bevy of good food and grocery deals throughout August with pandapro, including unlimited SG$3 off delivery fees across all restaurants, unlimited free delivery on selected restaurants, additional 10% off all pick-up orders and monthly surprise perks on restaurants, pandamart, foodpanda shops and pandago.

Residents can redeem their free month of pandapro perks by entering the unique redemption code distributed across front door hangers or letterboxes.

Envious of Yew Tee? Residents from other districts also stand to win a month of unlimited free deliveries and surprise perks on restaurants, groceries and more for their entire block.

To apply, simply comment “pandapro for [neighbourhood name]” (e.g. “pandapro for Tampines”) on foodpanda’s Instagram video that will be posted on 12 August.

The most liked comment on the post will win free one-month pandapro subscriptions for their entire block.

Additionally, the individual who posted the winning comment will receive an exclusive Pau-Pau Mahjong set, a Nintendo Switch OLED console and a Sennheiser Ambeo Mini Soundbar. The giveaway ends on 31 August, and the winner will be contacted shortly after.

This comes shortly after foodpanda partnered with Carlsberg for an expansive campaign to make beer more accessible

As part of the partnership, Carlsberg will deepen its use of foodpanda's network of cloud grocery stores through pandamart and its ties with retailers via foodpanda shops to make its extensive variety of beverages more accessible to consumers in fun and fresh ways during relevant drinking occasions.
