Seasoned marketer Laura Kantor has launched a new agency in Singapore called Climate Club, according to Kantor in a statement to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

The agency specialises in sustainability communications, filling a gap in the industry, according to Kantor.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Kantor said that her venture was spurred by a disconnect in how seriously businesses consider sustainability.

“Very few businesses take sustainability seriously. It’s often only talked about on Earth Day, or with a one-off PR stunt, and it doesn’t have to be the case,” said Kantor.

“Our goal at Climate Club is to turn sustainability into a competitive advantage - either by reducing costs or generating revenue, all while creating positive impact, so that business leaders make it a priority,” she explained.

Climate Club will offer consultancy, strategy and branding services, in addition to workshops and internal employee engagement. It aims to work with businesses to identify a sustainability strategy that is suitable, actionable and easy to evaluate which the agency hopes to communicate with a strong narrative according to Kantor.

When asked what makes her confident about the new venture, Kantor explained that her main focus is doing something she feels passionate about and that has a huge opportunity in the APAC region.

“The sustainability industry has completely evolved over the past 10 years, but there is still a long way to go. After seeing how much impact I've been able to make in this space so far, I am hopeful we can replicate this for many other businesses in the region,” she explained.

In her career in marketing and strategy that spans over 14 years, Laura was the marketing and sustainability director at foodpanda Singapore from 2020 to 2022. She joined the company in 2016 as head of marketing and expanded her remit over the years. During her time at foodpanda, Kantor grew the business by over 100x, launched six business units and grew the marketing team from three to 32 professionals.

Prior to launching Climate Club, Kantor was the vice president of marketing and growth at sustainability-focused company abillion before being promoted to its chief marketing and impact officer.
