foodpanda HK caters to solo economy with ‘Meal for one’ service

In response to the rising trend of the "solo economy" (一人經濟), foodpanda Hong Kong has launched the “Meal for one” (一人餐) service which provides meal sets catered for one person.

A spokesperson from foodpanda Hong Kong told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that with more consumers embracing the “me time” lifestyle, foodpanda launched the "Meal for one" service, offering customers a wide variety of quality choices with appropriate serving sizes and diversified cuisines at affordable prices, and paving the way for new opportunities for its restaurant partners.

To expand the reach of the “Meal for one” service, foodpanda HK is rolling out a series of promotional tactics through a comprehensive blend of channels from June to July 2024.

While foodpanda has introduced ads on Viu TV and Hoy TV, the ads are also shown in OOH forms in MTR stations, on bus shelter panels, bus bodies, and tram shelters, as well as locational billboards and LED TV screens. In terms of digital channels, foodpanda has spread its ads via platforms such as Meta and YouTube.

The brand will also engage additional influencers to generate more content connected to enjoying food for one, also tying in with the theme of "solo economy", the spokesperson added. 

Additionally, foodpanda Hong Kong is offering customers free delivery and platform fees throughout June.

Back in May, foodpanda Hong Kong partnered with Wellcome and Market Place, supermarket chains under DFI Retail Group, to provide customers with up to 5,000 items available for delivery in 45 minutes.

The items available on foodpanda HK platform include a wide range of products such as fresh food, snacks, ice-cream, beverages, groceries. Wellcome and Market Place are also offering discounts on selected items when customers spend a certain amount on foodpanda.
