Edelman's Amanda Goh will be leaving the company next month after more than 17 years. Most recently helming the role of vice chair, clients and sectors, Asia Pacific, Goh (pictured) is leaving after seven months in her new position, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, she was managing director, global client experience, Edelman Asia Pacific for more than a year.

Goh's LinkedIn profile showed she first joined Edelman in 2003 as director, head of corporate and financial services practice in Singapore. She then went on the take on the role of senior vice president, corporate and public affairs in New York, before returning to Singapore in 2012 as managing director. Goh was subsequently promoted to the role of CEO in Singapore in 2015, where she helmed the role for three years.

In a statement to Marketing, Stephen Kehoe, CEO of Edelman APAC, said for the past three and a half years, Goh has led one of its largest and most important client relationships in the APAC region "with humility, tenacity and a good deal of charm". Kehoe added that in Goh's six years leading the Singapore business, she developed and nurtured talent, oversaw strong performance and built practices including brand and digital from the ground up.

"Goh has incredible attention to detail, a knack for convening, training and charming both clients and colleagues, and a constant desire to learn from her teams," Kehoe said, adding that she has been "a relentless advocate" for Edelman both internally and externally. Kehoe also thanked Goh for her enormous"contribution to the firm, and wished her the very best for her family and future career path. Edelman declined to comment on Goh's replacement.

Last month, Edelman Taiwan appointed Alexandra Pao as managing director, helping evolve the agency's services in the market to be more digitally focused.  Pao is tasked to drive the development of a creative digital content studio to serve not only clients in the Taiwan market but also the broader Edelman network. Leveraging her background in content and integrated marketing communication, Pao will build on the Taiwan office's strong client portfolio and boost Edelman’s services in the digital sphere.

Separately in June, Edelman reduced its global workforce by approximately 390 people, which is less than 7% of its global team. It also planned to carry out salary reductions from 5% to 20% which was scaled by employee compensation level. The staff cut came three months after Edelman said there will be no job losses due to the COVID-19 situation in March. According to media reports, the change in decision came as the management had to consider the long-term health of the agency.
