Edelman Taiwan has appointed Alexandra Pao as managing director, helping evolve the agency's services in the market to be more digitally focused.
In her latest position, Pao will drive the development of a creative digital content studio to serve not only clients in the Taiwan market but also the broader Edelman network. Leveraging her background in content and integrated marketing communication, Pao will build on the Taiwan office's strong client portfolio and boost Edelman’s services in the digital sphere.
She will replace Peter Tou who will be moving to a regional role based in Hong Kong after close to a decade leading the office. Reporting to Adrian Warr, CEO of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand at Edelman, Pao is recognised as a top strategic brand advisor. In recent years, she has built and led multi-disciplinary and cross cultural teams focused on delivering end-to-end marketing communications programmes for clients in the sectors of FMCG, technology, finance, retail, luxury, and healthcare.
With more than 20 years of experience in marketing international brands in Taiwan, Pao was managing director of Lion & Lion prior to this latest appointment. Before that, she held business director positions at Dentsu and Leo Burnett.
"Pao is going to bring a whole new skillset and point of view to our clients. Building on our PR foundations, she’s going to help our clients earn attention through creative, digitized campaigns," said Warr.
"She is a respected client counsellor who understands the nuances of advising international brands in a Taiwanese context. She will not only play a vital role in evolving our position in the Taiwan market, but also she has agreed to lend us her talents at a regional level to accelerate our content marketing ambitions," he added.
