Edelman has named Amanda Koh (pictured) as its head of technology in Singapore. With nearly two decades of experience across consumer and enterprise technology and telecommunications companies, she will be building on the agency’s strong technology sector capability and expertise. Edelman told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE in this newly created role that, she will report to Julia Wei, Edelman Singapore's CEO.

Koh returns to Edelman after seven years in-house, most recently as Asia Pacific and Middle East marketing and communications head at Vodafone. She had previously spent nine years at Edelman – both in Singapore and Sydney. During this time, she was responsible for leading key client relationships across Edelman’s spectrum of offerings, from media relations to content and digital. Also, her appointment highlights Edelman’s focus on the role the sector and its innovations are playing in society and business.

Wei explained that Koh will be instrumental in Edelman Singapore’s next chapter of growth and innovation – both for its culture and its capabilities. “I am thrilled to have Koh return to Edelman to lead our teams in a very pivotal moment in time for the technology sector, amidst increased expectations for technology leaders to communicate the societal impact of innovation and address concerns on issues like data privacy and automation to build trust," Wei said.

Koh added: "It is therefore incredibly exciting to get the opportunity to return and lead the growth of Edelman’s technology sector, working with technology companies and leaders to deliver on people’s expectations for societal impact and responsible leadership.”

Separately, the agency has also seen some changes on the leadership front. More recently, Edelman named Warren Fernandez CEO of Asia Pacific. Fernandez, who was previously editor ofThe Straits Times, currently oversees the region’s 21 offices and more than 1,300 employees.

Based in Singapore, Fernandez joins the firm’s global executive leadership team and reports to global president and chief operating officer Matthew Harrington. He replaced Stephen Kehoe, who left Edelman in June. Dave Samson, global vice chairman of corporate affairs, previously served as interim CEO since Kehoe’s departure.

In September, it appointed Wei as CEO of Singapore. She was previously managing partner at AKA Asia and returned to Edelman where she previously worked at for 10 years

Meanwhile, Edelman Hong Kong appointed Andy Chan as the firm's design director and Richard Poon as producer and production manager. Both appointments were effective immediately. Both Chan and Poon will report to John Koay, Edelman’s executive creative director for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
