Hong Kong-based creative agency Durian Hong Kong’s managing partner Andy Chan has left the firm to launch a new local creative agency NoTwo Hong Kong, which serves clients in diverse sectors, including technology, FMCG, insurance, amongst others.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Chan said when he decided to establish NoTwo under The Bees Group, the main goal was to create a space where the agency could bring a cool and unique approach to advertising and marketing.

“We believe that when attention is scarce, uniformity is a sin. All marketers need NoTwo-like campaigns more than ever. So we aim to break away from the traditional planning way and deliver exceptional value to our clients through creativity and client satisfaction,” he added.

Chan brings over 10 years of agency experience, with his most recent role as managing partner of Durian HK. Prior to Durian, he was the business director at local digital agency The Bread Digital. He had also worked at Mindshare for four years.

As the owner of the agency, Chan oversees the overall operations, including setting the strategic direction, fostering a creative and collaborative work culture, and maintaining client relationships. He is also deeply involved in business development, which includes seeking new opportunities, partnerships, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

“I report to our clients' clients—the very people our marketing campaigns aim to engage and influence. Understanding the needs, preferences, and behaviour of the target audience is paramount,” Chan said.

It's through their eyes that the agency measures the impact and effectiveness of its campaigns. “I'm committed to creating marketing strategies that resonate with and delight the end-users, ensuring that our efforts drive real value and results for our clients,” he added.

“In essence, my role is to bridge the gap between our clients and their target audience, acting as the liaison to ensure that our strategies not only meet the clients' objectives but also engage and resonate with the end-users, ultimately contributing to the success of both parties,” he added.

In terms of how the marketing will be done moving forward, Chan said its marketing strategy is a blend of both traditional and digital approaches. By leveraging digital marketing channels, such as social media, content marketing, and online advertising, the agency aims to reach its target audience effectively.

Additionally, NoTwo values the power of word-of-mouth referrals and client success stories, which have played a significant role in showcasing its capabilities and attracting new clients. Collaborations and partnerships within the industry also form an essential part of its marketing strategy, helping it expand its reach and influence, Chan said.
