Domino’s onboards FrieslandCampina veteran as new president and head of marketing for MY, SG, KH

Domino’s Pizza has named Bastiaan de Clercq (pictured) as its new president and head of marketing, covering Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia.

“We are excited to announce that on 17 March our new president and head of marketing will officially join Domino’s," said Domino’s Pizza Malaysia in a LinkedIn post.
 
According to the post, Bastiaan de Clercq will lead the brand's marketing teams, driving strategy, innovation and growth. "Passionate about brand building, digital marketing, and business transformation, de Clercq leverages technology and consumer insights to accelerate growth and innovation. We will warmly welcome de Clercq as he joins the Domino’s family,” added Domino's Pizza Malaysia.

Prior to joining Domino's Pizza, de Clercq served over 13 years at FrieslandCampina, taking on various roles. He was most recently the head of digital and media for Dutch Lady Malaysia. He kickstarted his career in brand management, after which he took up the role in global digital transformation for FrieslandCampina in Europe and Singapore.

When reached out to by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a Domino's spokesperson said “Domino’s is pleased to announce the appointment of Bastiaan De Clercq as President and Head of Marketing for Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia. In this role, he will spearhead the region’s marketing strategy, innovation, and commercial initiatives, driving brand growth and advancing digital transformation.

“Bringing over 13 years of expertise in marketing, digital transformation and commercial leadership, we are confident that Bastiaan’s strategic vision will further strengthen Domino’s market position and accelerate business expansion across the region," they added. 

The spokesperson also confirmed that de Clercq will oversee marketing for all the three markets. 

de Clercq's appointment comes amid a slew of new marketing lead appointments for brands across the region recently. In February, KFC Malaysia named Hanim Mazam as its new chief marketing officer. Not long before that in September, KFC Singapore appointed Jaslyn Lam as its new marketing director to enhance brand development, improve operational efficiency and drive business growth.

This month, Hyundai Malaysia also appointed Ahmad Nasyami Mihat as its new head of marketing, to strengthen the automotive brand’s presence in the Malaysian market. Prior to this role, Nasyami was the head of international sales at Proton.
