Dominic Wong rejoins client-side from m/SIX Malaysia as digital lead

Dominic Wong (pictured), former business director at m/SIX, has joined InterContinental Hotels Group as director, digital marketing head based in Malaysia. Wong is responsible for spearheading regional digital growth and driving customer acquisitions through brand building and optimising direct booking funnelling across Asia Pacific through programmatic, AI and affiliate marketing with online travel agencies.
Wong told A+M the role will allow him to explore and improve the way marketers operate in the travel and tourism space. He added that he aims to spearhead and diversify how IHG connects with travellers across the region and stay on top of the ever evolving trends and media channels. IHG declined to comment on A+M's queries.
Before this, Wong had a stint with m/SIX as business director, during which he led a team to focus on the best practices of delivering strategic and innovative solutions to clients. He told A+M previously that his vision was to push insights-driven data to build business growth for the brands across m/SIX’s client portfolio.
Wong is no stranger to the hospitality industry, having worked at Sunway International Hotels and Resorts as group director, digital marketing. During his time there, he led a 360-digital, social, and mobile implementation, eCommerce optimisation, and new market emerging technologies. He also oversaw group level digital marketing initiatives for other hotel properties such as Sunway Putra KL, Sunway Georgetown Penang, Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya, Sunway Hanoi, The Banjaran, and Phnom Penh.
He also worked at FleishmanHillard, Mirum, Vocanic, Catcha Group and Innity. Among the list of clients he has collaborated with include Malaysia Airlines, Tourism Malaysia CIMB Group, Astro Arena and HSBC.
