Prantik Mazumdar (pictured), managing director, CXM Group at Dentsu Singapore, has stepped down after five years in the company, according to dentsu Singapore.

"Prantik Mazumdar has left dentsu to pursue his personal passions," it said when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

Mazumdar has made significant contributions to dentsu since joining the network in 2019 through the acquisition of digital marketing agency, Happy Marketer.

Under his helm, Happy Marketer was successfully integrated and rebranded as Merkle Singapore in 2022. During this period, Merkle Singapore grew to become an over 80-strong team serving clients across industries and markets. These include Jollibee Foods Corporation, Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI), Income Insurance, FairPrice, Royal Brunei Airlines, and Standard Chartered.

Robust strategic partnerships have also been forged with Adobe, Boston Consulting Group, Braze, Google, Tealium, Salesforce, and more, while the agency launched a proprietary accelerated solution for a single campaign view, it said.

The agency also recorded two consecutive wins as Marketing-Interactive’s Overall Agency of the Year from 2022 to 2023, with most recent key recognition for being Consultant of the Year, CRM & Loyalty Marketing Agency of the Year, MarTech Agency of the Year, and Programmatic Agency of the Year.

"59 months. The longest that I have worked for a company, besides the one that I co-owned. Clearly, Merkle and the dentsu network did and offered an interesting and challenging opportunity that motivated and incentivised me to stay," said Mazumdar on LinkedIn.

"Amongst other things, it was the decent, large-hearted, authentic, collaborative, genuine and kind people that I had the chance to work with and who provided a very good home for Happy Marketer, the company that Rachit Dayal and I co-founded," he added.

Mazumdar brought to the role decades of experience in implementing idea and data-driven digital campaigns for marketing, customer service and online-reputation management. He started his career at International Enterprise Singapore and joined Happy Marketer in 2011 where he was instrumental in driving the digital marketing agency’s regional growth. He also led the agency's acquisition by DAN in 2019.

Mazumdar has also worked with several regional brands across the Asia Pacific to build and implement successful data-driven digital strategies that are aligned with business objectives. Additionally, he has consulted clients across multiple industries including Heineken, Royal Brunei Airlines, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Income, INSEAD, the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Business School, and Singapore Press Holdings.

"I leave the organisation with a lot of pride and satisfaction that beyond delivering knowledge [and] the financial metrics, my team, people who are supremely integral to my life, are operating in a safe and stable environment and one that provides them with a roadmap to grow and prosper," wrote Mazumdar.

"Whilst I have decided to move on to explore and pursue my other personal interests, I am not sure of the exact destination yet," said Mazumdar on his next steps. "For now, I will continue to commit most of my time, energy and attention to TiE Singapore, to help rally, activate and energise the awesome community to continue to do more for our regional entrepreneurial ecosystem."

dentsu Singapore's CXM group will continue to be led by Sanchit Mendiratta, managing director at Merkle Singapore, Awadesh Madhogaria, chief operating officer, Merkle Singapore, Terrence Quah, director, performance marketing, Merkle Singapore and Trishe Goh, director, growth, Merkle Singapore.

“Mazumdar has been a stalwart of our dentsu Singapore team and the Merkle business over the past five years. We are deeply grateful for him and the many meaningful contributions that he has made towards our teams and to dentsu in his role as managing director of Singapore’s CXM Group" said Prakash Kamdar, CEO, clients & solutions, Southeast Asia, and CEO, Singapore and Indonesia, dentsu.

"Since taking on this role in 2020, Mazumdar has created a powerhouse function that joins up the brands under our CXM business. With his entrepreneurial experience, Mazumdar created business systems to co-create unified product offerings, pitch and win new business, and nurture strategic alliances. He has been a compassionate and forward-looking leader on our Singapore executive leadership team, and his warmth has trickled down to our people who will continue to be the core foundations of our business going forward. We wish Mazumdar all the best in his future endeavours.”
