Dentsu Hong Kong has appointed Jan Lee (pictured) as its managing partner and director of dentsu Entertainment, reporting to Simone Tam, CEO, dentsu GBA and Hong Kong.

In this newly created role, Lee will spearhead the enhancement and growth of dentsu Hong Kong’s diverse entertainment capabilities, encompassing a range of offerings. Prior to dentsu, she held the general manager role at TBWA.

In an era where information is ever-evolving, people's content consumption patterns have undergone a transformative shift. Dentsu realises entertainment has emerged as a truly captivating and powerful channel, enabling people to forge profound connections across diverse cultural landscapes.

Dentsu Entertainment’s IP development capabilities cover the entire lifecycle, from ideation and character design to worldbuilding, scriptwriting, and production, according to the release.

Dentsu as a network works closely with creators, publishers, and other stakeholders to bring these IPs to life through high-quality anime series, films, and multimedia content, uniquely positioned to harness the unparalleled potential of this dynamic landscape, crafting immersive experiences that resonate with audiences on a deep, meaningful level.

Tam said, “I am delighted to have Lee join our family. Lee’s appointment not only highlights the strong capabilities of dentsu on anime & IP, but it also reinforces our ability to provide fully integrated solutions that leverage the breadth and depth of our one dentsu network.”

“Her extensive background and experience will be a tremendous asset as we further expand our entertainment offerings in Hong Kong, continue to drive cultural connections, and captivate audiences through innovative entertainment experiences,” she added.

“I'm thrilled to join the team which has already established a robust entertainment network,” said Lee. “In this role, my focus will be on further exploring and expanding upon dentsu's existing entertainment offerings. I will be dedicated to developing, financing, producing, and marketing entertainment that cultivates cultural connections, tells impactful stories, and captivates audiences and platforms alike.”

“With our teams' extensive expertise in the entertainment industry, we are committed to driving cultural dialogues, implementing novel commercial models, and generating value from entertainment for our brand clients and partners,” she added.
