DDB merges HK and Guangzhou offices to strengthen Greater Bay Area offering

DDB is launching “DDB Greater Bay" to unite the strategic and creative expertise of both its Guangzhou and Hong Kong offices, in an effort to create a stronger DDB presence in Southern China.
The Guangzhou office will continue to be led by DDB's general manager, Jason Kho, who will report directly to Andreas Krasser, now CEO of DDB Group Hong Kong and Greater Bay.
Kho said, “This is an exciting time, with both mainland China and Hong Kong opening up, the opportunities in the GBA are sheer limitless – not only in terms of business but also when it comes to talent and talent mobility.”
The Greater Bay Area has a population of over 70 million, and is currently the 12th largest economy globally. DDB Greater Bay will help GBA-based brands to expand internationally, while also assisting international and Hong Kong-based brands to establish a strong foothold in the emerging Greater Bay Area.
Krasser commented, “Over the past 24 months we’ve already worked on multiple GBA-focused briefs, and I am thrilled to be extending our offering and connectivity in this space. In Kho we have a leader in the GBA who not only understands the dynamics and needs of the region, but also how multinational brands can successfully communicate in China. Our axis between Hong Kong and Guangzhou will allow clients to have strong launch pads into the GBA as well as from the GBA to the rest of the world.”
