Global media intelligence firm, CARMA, has appointed Jeremiah Rodrigues (pictured) as general manager for Malaysia. In this newly created role, he will report to CARMA Asia's managing director Andrew Nicholls, who is based in Singapore.

The appointment comes as CARMA wishes to establish more localised leaders as it continues to build its footprint in Asia. This new role will help CARMA strengthen its position and deepen its understanding of the region.

Within his new role, Rodrigues will spearhead business development and operations, and drive company growth and culture in CARMA Malaysia.

Rodrigues has been with CARMA Asia’s Malaysia office since 2019, where he first joined client servicing, before leading business development and now helming the Malaysian team in the newly-created role.

“We’ve grown significantly across the region since launching CARMA in Asia five years ago,” said Nicholls. “CARMA’s understanding of markets on a local level, underpins our capabilities to deliver data and insights for our clients. Rodrigues is instrumental to this vision and I look forward to working with him to unlock new opportunities in Malaysia,” he added.

Rodrigues said: "The fragmented media landscape across Asia means that clients are bringing more specialised requests for PR measurement and evaluation. This demands an increasingly complex stack of skills and experience, which CARMA is proud to deliver. I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum of our growth in Malaysia."

With over 600 employees across five continents and 20 countries, combined with our technology, expertise and client service, CARMA is a media intelligence provider which provides services for clients to understand the media and prove the value of their public relations.

CARMA first tapped into Asia in 2018, with its latest expansion in Indonesia in June 2023. Alongside the expansion, it named Amira Kanifah to lead the business development in Jakarta.
