Carlsberg Malaysia has unveiled a virtual stadium to celebrate Liverpool Football Club (LFC) being crowned Premier League champions. Done in collaboration with LFC fans, the video strings together 500 clips from social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as through the LFC fan club in Malaysia and through word of mouth.
In the Facebook post seen by A+M, the virtual stadium features Malaysian LFC fans from all walks of life expressing their love for the club by singing the football club's iconic "You will never walk alone" anthem. Titled "The Champions Choir - You will never sing alone", the video was also rolled out on Carlsberg Malaysia's YouTube and IGTV pages.
This campaign comes as LFC ended its 30-year Premier League drought in June, when it was crowned champions after Manchester City lost to Chelsea 2-1, much to the jubilation of fans. The euphoria over LFC's win also extended to brands in Malaysia and Singapore, with several of them jumping at the chance to show their merriment.
Two weeks ago, Carlsberg Malaysia also created limited-edition LFC cans and bottles featuring the "Champions" packaging, switching its iconic green colour to LFC's iconic red. The packaging features LFC's crest, name, and 13 personal signatures of manager Jurgen Klopp, captain Jordan Henderson, vice-captain James Milner, and players Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino, Dejan Lovren, Fabinho, Virgil Van Dijk, Alisson, Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, Adam Lallana, and Gini Wijnaldum.
