Digital agency C27 has partnered community builders EPIC Homes to empower communities through building homes. The digital collaboration aims to improve the lives of and build safe homes for the Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia.

The partnership aims to amplify EPIC Homes’ existing Project 100 mission through the use of digital technology. EPIC Homes’ Project 100 provides homes for 100 Orang Asli families annually for Orang Asli, one of the marginalised Indigenous groups in Malaysia.

EPIC Homes has been addressing housing challenges faced by the Orang Asli community through its modular and cost-effective home-building approach. Using straightforward assembly and easy-to-understand build instructions, an EPIC Home can be built from the ground up in just 3 days by a team of 30+ volunteers with no prior experience, according to C27 in a statement.

By leveraging C27's expertise in digital solutions, EPIC Homes aims to streamline its operations, enhance outreach efforts, and empower more individuals to impact communities.

“A big part of our vision is to positively impact the human condition with the creative and digital tools at our disposal. This naturally encompasses social causes,” said Fazil Fuad, CEO of C27. “EPIC Homes already has an amazing brand and reputation, it's a great start, and we can’t wait to see where this goes!”

“This timely partnership with C27 gives us the ability to broadcast our mission to people who may not have heard of us before, and that is so important to us – because we can’t do this alone. Our goal is to build and uplift each other, together, to bridge the urban and rural divide,” shared John-Son Oei, co-founder and CEO of EPIC Homes.

Through the partnership, EPIC Homes has developed and launched the Project 100 website, designed to engage volunteers and donors who are eager to make a difference. The website features detailed information on the initiative, upcoming builds, volunteer opportunities, home sponsorships and more.

Media company Cilisos was also engaged, where a collaborative Instagram reel showcased volunteers building homes from the structure of the floor to the roof.

Together, C27 and EPIC Homes aim to positively impact both the Orang Asli community and the volunteers. Recently, C27 also partnered Cancer Research Malaysia to amplify its mission to “Save Asian Lives” while breaking the stigma around cancer by building a supportive digital community.

Collaborative materials by C27 and Cancer Research Malaysia featured the cost of donations to cancer research compared to local meals such as Nasi Lemak or Chicken Rice, reflecting how small donations can make big differences when it comes to cancer research.
