72andSunny Singapore has brought onboard marketing veteran, Judy Ang (pictured left), as group brand director. Ang was most recently responsible for marketing communications at SAFRA National Service Association and was regional director, marketing and communications at Furama Hotels International before that. She has over 16 years of experience across major networks in Singapore and Shanghai.
Ang led and grew the Scoot business at Publicis and helmed the HSBC and Changi Airport Group accounts while at J. Walter Thompson, now known as Wunderman Thompson. She also previously worked on Unilever and Castro at Ogilvy in Shanghai.
"I am super stoked to join the 72andSunny team. I’ve always loved how they put creativity and collaboration at the core of everything - the work, the people and the business," Ang said.
At the same time, the agency has also promoted Jaclyn Lee (pictured centre) to senior strategy director and Jonathan Tan (pictured right) to brand director. Lee has over 15 years of planning expertise and Tan has close to 10 years of account management experience. Both have been with the agency for over two years and lead the GIC, Carousell, and Singapore University of Technology and Design accounts, among others.
President of 72andSunny Singapore, Ida Siow, said it has been an incredible year. The agency doubled its business and chalked up new wins from Diageo to Nio and Atome most recently, hence it is excited to grow the team and award some very well-deserved promotions. "I’ve worked with Ang in the past and could not be happier to welcome her to the 72 family. She is a powerhouse who knows how to wrestle big, complex accounts and deliver results for her clients," Siow added.
She also said that Lee and Tan are both superstars with the smarts and the heart to lead their teams, build strong client partnerships and make the work work. "They make me and everyone else look good," Siow said. The agency also currently works with OPPO to grow and help build the brand in key markets worldwide, and the appointment came after a pitch with multiple agencies across Asia and Europe.
Meanwhile, the agency witnessed the departure of Chris Kay, former APAC CEO, in June this year. However, its Singapore operations remain unaffected. In fact, it even bolstered its team with three new hires amidst news of Kay's departure. Iris Teoh, Yasira Yusoff, and Vanessa Chua joined as art director, writer, and brand coordinator respectively.
