East meets west: WhatsApp collaborates with feng shui and zodiac expert for V-day text tips

It’s Valentine’s Day and many of us might have prepared sweet surprises and planned unforgettable dates at the most romantic places in town. In fact, whether we're asking our crush out on a date, or inviting our partner to take part in a memorable dinner, a romantic invitation text message is inevitable in this case.
However, some of us might wonder how do we express ourselves fully with a plain text message. Would it be too much or too little? Fortunately, instant text messenger WhatsApp has collaborated with a local feng shui expert and TV regular Caca Yau to share tips on how users can be at their best in WhatsApp chats based on their zodiac this year.
Be it cute and sweet, or sexy and flirty, let’s take a closer look at how you could text your Valentines better on WhatsApp on the Happy Hearts Day.
Rat
People born in the Year of the Rat have better luck in love this year. They should try using a variety of ways to fully express themselves, such as sending a voice note or using reactions and stickers so their loved ones can bask in their affection and engaging conversations.
On the flipside, they may find themselves in disputes and conflicts this year, so they should stay calm and take your time before replying to messages. They should also consider hiding their online status and turning off read receipts to prevent others from misinterpreting their slow replies as being unresponsive.
Ox
The new year will usher in a period of tranquility for Oxes - even their failures will be small this year. It’s a great time to start something new and take action on an idea that they’ve had at the back of their head. If they have a cause to support or an interest to pursue, Communities is a great way to organise multiple chat groups, unlocking the power of their networks to get things done together.
Without any lucky (or unlucky) stars, the Ox might need to be more self-sufficient this year. They can try sending themselves messages as reminders or to keep track of notes and ideas.
Tiger
After quite an unpleasant year, Tigers will find themselves finally free from all obstacles! Their love lives are expected to be thriving this year so they are recommended to set up a custom ringtone for their special someone on WhatsApp so they can be notified when their crushes call.
Blessed by the Sun, Tigers will also find prosperity at work with renewed support from those in more senior positions. They are suggested to increase productivity through easily activated voice or video calls with up to 32 of their teammates.
Rabbit
Rabbits could face a challenging year ahead with some setbacks. They may not make the best decisions for themselves, but their close circle of trusted friends and family could help them get through tricky situations. The Poll feature could be useful in seeking their opinions before making major decisions.
Despite some challenges, there will be opportunities for them to leverage an entrepreneurial streak to start your own business. They should check out the WhatsApp Business App which is feature-packed for small businesses with tools such as catalog and automated replies.
Dragon
Things could get rocky for Dragons who should try and prepare to manage a few misadventures this year. Their love lives might not go as smooth this year, with chances that their intentions may be misunderstood. Before sending any voice notes, they can review a draftor pause recording if they need to gather thoughts before sending it off. Any unintended messages can also be deleted for everyone if necessary.
They should also consider activating additional privacy and security features on WhatsApp such as two-step verification and don’t hesitate to report suspicious messages if they receive any. For even more privacy, Dragons can also activate disappearing messages and view once for text and media messages.
Snake
After all the ups and downs in the past year, fortune will favour Snakes in the new year and bring exciting travel and adventures. While they are out and about, they should pay attention to the health of their loved ones, especially older family members. They should also be in touch through voice and video calls so they don’t miss major moments and can stay close even if they’re miles away.
Furthermore, they should share their experiences with contacts through Status updates and ping over their live locations.
Horse
It’s a good year for Horses to build relationships, especially with people who they’re meeting for the first time. Romance is high on the charts but those who are in existing relationships should try and avoid misunderstandings with their partners. Horses might even want to block unwanted contacts if they try too hard to get their attention.
Horses will be very popular this year, but if it ever gets too much for them, they are suggested to exit group chats silently and change their settings to restrict others from adding them to groups without permission.
Goat
Goats are blessed with good fortune this year and the opportunity to grow their wealth through the support of benefactors. However, other stars suggest the possibility of injury, so they should be careful and share their live locations with loved ones if they sense any danger and are in need of help.
Single Goats are also in luck to find love this year, but they should avoid awkward situations when confessing their feelings. Goats in relationships could get into conflicts with your partner this year, so they should try using various formats in their messages to help themexpress themselves accurately.
Monkey
For Monkeys, this year they will be blessed with prosperity though support from family and colleagues, leading to a very successful year. They should maintain good relationships with their relatives, friends and elders by actively participating in groups they are part of to receive unexpected gains.
Monkeys will also have a relatively stable year health-wise but excessive social events may wear them out. They should prioritise their time wisely and remember they always have the option to mute selected group chats if they need some down time.
Rooster
Roosters should stay lowkey this year with obstacles working against plans they might have made. They should stay optimistic and remember they can message themselves to keep ideas for a better time, even if they don’t work out now. They should also keep conversations light by using Reactions to respond to messages and share happy moments of the day through photos and videos to stay in good spirits.
Roosters could flex that creative energy that they will have in spades by creating their own Avatars on WhatsApp.
Dog
Dogs’ close network of friends and colleagues will bring great and new opportunities for their careers this year. More broadly, they will also excel in all types of relationships with their amazing interpersonal skills. Hence, they should stay connected through WhatsApp on multiple linked devices so they don’t miss a beat!
While things are looking up, Dogs may also experience some unexpected losses. WhatsApp protects all conversations with end-to-end encryption, but they should be extra careful to avoid scammers. They should make sure to enable two-step verification, and remember they can always block and report suspicious or unwanted messages.
Pig
It is Pigs’ time to shine! If they are managing groups or teams at work, this is their chance to grow and exercise their leadership skills.
They should Galvanise their teams by using Communities where users can bring groups with common goals together, seek opinions using Polls and even exercise their right as an admin to maintain the peace by deleting problematic messages.
Pigs will also have many opportunities to travel for work and play. They can even share their adventures on-the-go by updating their Status with snippets from their trips.
