Malaysia post and parcel service provider Pos Malaysia is letting Malaysians post mail and shop at its new Pos Shop convenience store in Pudu. Marking the brand's 36th Pos Shop nationwide and in conjunction with National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations, the new store introduces a 'Shop in Shop' concept that places a post office inside a Pos Shop.

Spanning over 900 square feet, Pos Shop Pudu also offers a wide range of choices for customers, including Pos Kafe and a one-stop shop which stocks daily essentials, personal care items and household products. Customers can also reload their mobile services and make bill payments at the Pos Shop.

In celebration of National Month, Malaysian flags were also distributed to customers at the event. A special edition "Hari Malaysia" ('Malaysia Day') stamp collection will also be launched.  According to Fiona Liao, group chief marketing, communications and sustainability officer of Pos Malaysia, the Pos Shop initiative is a key component of Pos Malaysia's broader transformation plan.

"With the launch of our 36th Pos Shop, we are thrilled to continually innovate our space and refine our product offerings to align with market demands, while providing a comprehensive one-stop solution for both postal and convenience needs. By optimising our existing assets, we are not only enhancing the overall customer experience at our retail outlets but also driving economic growth through strategic partnerships with local SMEs," said Liao.

"This approach not only fosters economic development but also supports our communities' needs, creating a win-win situation for Pos Malaysia, local businesses, and our customers," she added.

"By modernising its retail presence and supporting local small and medium-size industries, Pos Malaysia is not only enhancing the customer experience and meeting the community’s needs but also making significant contributions to our country's economic growth and community development," said deputy minister of communications Teo Nie Ching, who officiated the celebrations.

Moving forward, Pos Malaysia is planning to establish 14 additional Pos Shop outlets by the end of 2024, bring the national total to 50. The growth strategy underscores the company's commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for communities throughout Malaysia.

Earlier in March this year, Pos Malaysia launched a nationwide giveaway of over 35,000 carnations, chocolates and bookmarks to honour women at all Pos Malaysia touchpoints and within the Klang Valley community, as part of the week-long celebration for International Women's Day.  The festivities kicked off at Pos Malaysia's headquarters with an inspiring opening speech by group chief executive, Charles Brewer, followed by a ceremonial cake cutting, a staff pledge, and the distribution of flowers to female employees.
