1. Chagee nabs new country head of brand and marketing for SG

Tea beverage brand CHAGEE Singapore has nabbed Cheryl Lim as its new country head of brand and marketing. She now looks over CHAGEE's brand and marketing communications ahead of its return to Singapore. 

Lim joins CHAGEE from StarHub where she was its head of brand and communications, consumer business group. Lim joined the telco company at the end of November 2022 and was tasked with driving key business verticals.

2. Nike ad featuring athlete licking table tennis paddle sparks outrage in China 

Nike has found itself in hot water after its latest Olympics campaign. The campaign, titled "Winning isn’t for everyone," showcases a variety of athletes, including pole vaulters, basketball players, and footballers. 

However, the inclusion of a close-up shot of a Chinese athlete licking her table tennis paddle has been perceived as humiliating and disrespectful, sparking fury among Chinese netizens.

3. Google abandons third-party cookie kill, but the cat is out of the bag

Google is backtracking on its plan to remove third-party cookies in its Chrome browser, after its long-standing effort to phase out the cookies that were created to track users online. 

The big move comes after advertisers continuously expressed their concerns as the phaseout of the cookies on Chrome will impact their ability to collect data for personalised ads, meaning they will need to rely on Google's user databases.
