Marcus Loh steps down from executive director role at WE Communications

WE Communications’ group executive director Marcus Loh is stepping down from his role. Loh, who was with WE for over two years, was tasked to manage the agency’s regional technology client portfolio, and support the continued expansion of the regional practice at the agency. He reported to Sara Pereira, regional technology lead, Asia Pacific.

According to his LinkedIn, his next opportunity arrived at a time where “multinational enterprises and public agencies in Singapore and the broader region are hard at work, learning to thrive, transform, and deliver value in the digital economy”. He will be joining an undisclosed company which works together with these organisations.

Low did not comment on MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's queries. Loh also has abundant experience in the educational field as a lecturer in SMUBefore joining WE, Loh previously helmed the role of director of communications, APAC, at Tableau Software. During his time there, Loh headed its public affairs, media and analyst relations, customer evidence and executive communication functions across Asia Pacific.

He also formerly held the roles of the head of marketing for private education group PSB Academy, associate director at Ogilvy Public Relations, and campaign lead for the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives Singapore Program.

Loh joined WE following a string of senior appointments in Singapore back in 2020.  WE helps brands understand their purpose and use communications to move people to positive action in sectors comprising technology, health and consumer. Other than PR services, WE also delivers digital storytelling and integrated marketing communications. Some of the brands WE has worked with comprise McDonalds, Microsoft, Samsung, and Volvo. 

Meanwhile, Pereira joined shortly before Loh, and drives new business growth for the technology sector and increasing cross-regional collaboration, in partnership with local market leadership. She was previously with Ogilvy, where she held the role of regional lead across communications, technology and entertainment functions.
