We Are Social has promoted Suzie Shaw to the newly created role of Asia Pacific CEO, expanding her remit beyond Australia to oversee the agency’s growth and innovation across the region.
Shaw, who has led We Are Social Australia since 2015, will continue to head the local business while now also taking responsibility for fostering regional partnerships and scaling capabilities across Asia Pacific. She joins the agency’s global Executive Management Board and reports to Group CEO Toby Southgate.
Under Shaw’s leadership, the Sydney office has grown to more than 60 staff and delivered culturally relevant work for brands including Samsung, Audi, adidas and TikTok. The agency said her expanded role is part of a broader push to evolve social-led creativity for an increasingly complex cultural and digital landscape.
“I'm excited to step into this role and work alongside our incredibly talented teams across Asia Pacific,” Shaw said. “We have a huge opportunity to help brands not just join the conversation but lead it in a way that truly resonates with their communities.”
We Are Social also confirmed the launch of its new office in Bangkok, Thailand, adding to its existing Southeast Asia footprint in Singapore and Indonesia. The Thailand team is already working with clients including L’Oréal, KFC, Warner Bros. Discovery and T&B Media.
The Bangkok office is led by Patt Nitikarn as managing director and Nutchanun Chiaphanumas as executive creative director, supported by a 19-person team with capabilities across creative, strategy, PR, influencer, and client services.
To further strengthen its Southeast Asia operations, the agency has promoted Singapore managing director Naiyen Wang to the new role of Managing Director, Southeast Asia. Wang will oversee operations across the region and report to Shaw, while Nitikarn reports to Wang.
Southgate said the expanded leadership team positions the agency for continued growth in the region. “Suzie’s exceptional track record and passion make her the perfect leader for our Asia Pacific region. Likewise, Naiyen has been instrumental in establishing and growing our team in Singapore, and will be crucial in connecting our teams across Southeast Asia.”
