Waggener Edstrom promotes Carolyn Camoens

Independent PR agency Waggener Edstrom (WE) has appointed Carolyn Camoens, currently the general manager for the agency in Singapore to the role of regional vice president, Southeast Asia.The agency said in a press statement that the promotion results from WE's broader transformation in the APAC region, with the agency experiencing a 13% increase in the number of APAC multi-market regional clients. In her new role, Camoens (pictured) will oversee WE’s network and business across the Southeast Asian region, including multi-market clients across the public and private sectors.She came on board the agency in 2009 as the digital lead for the Singapore office.Camoens was then promoted to deputy general manager before most recently becoming general manager. Her communications experience spans over a decade and she has consulted for some of the world's leading brands across industries.She will continue to report to Matthew Lackie, senior vice president and APAC lead.Lackie said: “Over the past five years, Camoens has demonstrated an excellent track record in growing the business, showing strong entrepreneurial skills and providing excellent client consultancy. I truly believe that her leadership style builds great teams and I look forward to seeing the agency grow in the Southeast Asian region under her guidance.”Camoens was also recently co-opted into the Council of the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS).
