Digital payment technology company Visa has named Sisca Margaretta (pictured) as its new senior vice president and head of corporate communications for its operations in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, according to Margaretta when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

She will be reporting to K.C. Kavanagh, Visa’s chief communications officer who is based in New York and Stephen Karpin, Visa's regional president for the APAC region.

In her new role, Margaretta will be charged with overseeing the corporate communications team across all of Visa’s markets in the Asia Pacific region, as she leads the team to develop and execute integrated communications plans that support Visa's business objectives.

Her responsibilities also look towards enhancing the brand's reputation and engaging its internal and external stakeholders.

Prior to this appointment, Margaretta helmed the role of chief marketing and communications officer at Experian, where she oversaw the APAC region for slightly over five years. She also took on the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for a year.

In 2014, she served as the global head of client marketing and global campaigns for three years at Standard Charted Bank.

Margetta’s experience has helped expand and focus her expertise in areas such as digital marketing, strategic communication, internal communications and integrated marketing.

Visa has seen a number of leadership appointments in the past year with Chris Clark being elevated from regional president to chairman, APAC and Karpin succeeding him as the regional president.

In the role of chairman, APAC, Clark supports regional and global initiatives, including strategic engagements with government and industry stakeholders to drive Visa’s market expansion strategy and is continuing his role as a non-executive director of the Visa Europe Board.

Following their appointments, the company also promoted its previous head of client relationship management for Hong Kong and Macau, Paulina Leong, to the role of general manager of Visa Hong Kong and Macau.

Based in Hong Kong, Leong is responsible for leading Visa’s business growth and operations in both Hong Kong and Macau.
