Uber Eats Hong Kong has appointed Elisa Janiec as general manager.

In her new position, Janiec will be responsible for strengthening its partnership with restaurants and delivery-partners on the platform and overseeing the next phase of the company’s growth.

She joined Uber in 2017 as Uber Eats’ senior operations manager in Brisbane, Australia, before going on to lead Uber Eats across Queensland and Northern Territory. In 2019, she took over as head of New Zealand and regional Australia, managing a portfolio of more than 30 cities. She also spearheaded key initiatives in the region, including launching Uber Eats in over 15 cities, and piloting virtual restaurants and new use cases for pick-up services.

"Janiec's experience in expanding the Australia and New Zealand footprint, from Darwin to Launceston and everywhere in between, and success in building the Uber Eats business from the ground up is exactly what we need in Hong Kong. Her passion for building thriving teams will be of true value as we continue to grow in Hong Kong”, says Jodie Auster, regional general manager for Uber Eats in APAC.

Commenting on her appointment, Janiec said," I am thrilled to be joining the super talented team in Hong Kong at such a thriving time for food delivery in the city. I’m looking forward to getting set up in Hong Kong and experiencing its food delights. Street food or Michelin-starred, via the app or in the restaurant, I can’t wait.”
