To celebrate UA Finance's 30th anniversary, UA Financial and M&C Saatchi Spencer have unveiled an outdoor 3D advertising exhibit featuring a giant 3D arm which will cruise around Victoria Harbour until 22 September 2023.
Also known as "The Giant 3D Arm Cruising the Harbour", the giant arm aligns with the brand concept of “UA Empowers You To Fight Another Day" and invites citizens to take pictures and cheer for Hong Kong as it cruises within Victoria Harbour from 12pm to 7pm daily, passing by tourist spots including Golden Bauhinia Square, Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront Podium Garden, and West Kowloon Cultural District.
Done in collaboration with M&C Saatchi Spencer, media agency Mindshare, Easy Group, and a ship chartering company, the entire arm measures a remarkable 36 meters in length and 10 meters in height, constructed using specially made waterproof canvas materials. It consists of two main sections, including the forearm and the upper arm. Over 700 pieces of varying sizes were sewn together.

In fact, the design of the giant arm is an extension of the brand's advertising theme, which was unveiled in May. In the campaign ad, local actors Endy Chow and Stephy Tang were transformed into superheroes and wore the robotic arms.
Elvis Yan, chief marketing officer of UA Finance, said: "We hope that this UA maritime 3D arm touring Victoria Harbour can once again create a craze along both coasts of Victoria Harbour, bringing surprises to the public. We hope everyone can visit both sides of Victoria Harbour with their friends and family over the weekend, and enjoy the sight of this giant maritime 3D arm."
Back in May, UA Finance launched a video teaser on TV and online platforms to celebrate its 30th anniversary, featuringtwo senior executives of UA Finance, including Paul Lui, CEO and executive director and Elvis Yan, chief marketing officer. The ad took “Something is wrong”, a popular line from local movie “A Guilty Conscience” (毒舌大狀) as reference.
Within the video teaser, Yan and Lui were seen discussing how the company could celebrate its 30th anniversary. While Yan said it was a must for UA Finance to create gimmick for the special occasion, Lui also agreed that it would be wrong if the company didn't make a big deal out of it. He then said the upcoming celebration campaign had to be super powerful.
