Hong Kong's media broadcaster TVB's CFO and company secretary Kitty Fung Kit Yi has resigned due to personal reasons, with effect from 4 July 2022.The board of directors of TVB said in a statement that Fung resigned as the chief financial officer and company secretary starting from 4 July 2022. Fung also ceased to be a member of the Investment Committee of the board and an authorised representative of the company under Rule 3.05 of the “Rules Governing the Listing of Securities” on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.

Fung has decided to leave the company after joining for around 6 months. According to the public announcement, Fung is leaving for personal reasons and has confirmed to the company that she has no disagreement with the board and that she is not aware of any matter in relation to her resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company.   The board also announced that Ian Lee Hock Lye has been appointed as the acting chief financial officer and Desmond Chan Shu Hung has been appointed as the acting company secretary and an authorised representative with effect from 4 July 2022 until a permanent replacement for Fung is recruited. The board thanked Fung for her contributions to the company during her services and expresses its welcome to Lee and Chan on their new appointments.

Lee, who joined TVB in December 2021 as head of corporate development, has worked for various senior positions at Goldman Sachs, where he was an executive director of investment banking; and at PSA International, where he served as CFO of the Northeast Asia region, then as head of group strategy.

Chan, currently deputy general manager (legal and international operations), joined TVB as general counsel in 2010 and was appointed to the current position in July 2016. Before joining TVB, he worked at Asia Television Limited and i-Cable Communications. Chan is also a solicitor of the HKSAR (not currently in private practice).

Furthermore, the board announced that Lee has also been appointed as a member of the Investment Committee with effect from 4 July 2022. The Investment Committee comprises three members, namely Anthony Lee Hsien Pin as chairman, Thomas Hui To and Lee Hock Lye.

Previously in May, TVB has reported an abnormal incident to the Hong Kong Police Force after detecting a series of abnormal push notifications on 3 May.

In a statement, TVB said a total of 23 consecutive push notifications involving abnormal content were sent out via TVB NEWS mobile app in 21 minutes after midnight. The spokesperson said, "TVB has also carried out multifaceted investigations and has immediately strengthened system monitoring to prevent the reoccurrence of similar incidents. Police officers of the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau collected evidence in concerned offices at TVB City today in the afternoon. TVB will fully cooperate with the police for further in-depth investigations."
