TNG Digital names Ignatius Ong CEO

TNG Digital, a joint-venture between Touch ‘n Go and Ant Financial Group, has appointed Ignatius Ong (pictured) as CEO, effective 12 August. He succeeds Syahrunizam Samsudin who will return to his role as CEO of Touch ‘n Go.Ong was most recently the group chief revenue officer at Malaysia Airlines (MAB) and prior to that, CEO of Firefly Airlines from 2011 to 2018. His prior responsibilities at the airline covered various areas of growth, revenue and sales management of the organisation.Chairman of TNG Digital, Zafrul Aziz said: “He comes into the role suitably experienced, and with a firm mandate to accelerate growth at TNGD as it moves to maintain and solidify its position as the No.1 e-wallet player in the country, directly supporting the nation’s cashless agenda.”Coinciding with Ong’s exit from MAB was the hiring of Bryan Foong as group chief strategy officer for the airline. Foong will be in charge of translating the strategic vision for group CEO Izham Ismail and MAB’s board of directors into strategic priorities and direction.
