TikTok Music launches in Singapore with new interactive features

TikTok has launched TikTok Music, the video-sharing platform’s premium-only social music streaming service, in Singapore.

Prior to the launch, TikTok Music was only available to a closed group of beta testers.

Subscribers will be able to listen, download, and share full tracks to their communities through the new service, as well as transition between TikTok and TikTok Music seamlessly.

Along with the launch, TikTok Music has added new music discovery features, such as Party It, for personalised collaborative listening. Another feature is Tonik, a ChatGPT-powered music discovery personal assistant. Users can ask Tonik for information on artists, tracks, playlists, concerts, music news, and the stories behind the music.

The service will also include social music streaming features, such as Find Your Music Community, through which users can share comments and connect with others over music.

"TikTok Music will make it easy for people to save, download and share their favourite viral tracks from TikTok," said Ole Obermann, global head of music business development, TikTok.

He added that the new service will combine the power of TikTok’s music discovery with a best-in-class streaming service. The new service is another one of TikTok’s recent initiatives offering interactive functions to users.

For example, its recent Disney100 activation enables users to play Disney trivia and create their own videos with Disney music and effects. Users also can collect and trade character cards to win unique profile frames on the platform.
