As we head into 2024, online trading platform Tiger Brokers has launched a marketing campaign featuring a mobile wish pool, aiming to wish HongKongers well for the new year and spread positive vibes.
Also known as "虎虎生 wish", the campaign is launched in partnership with creative agency Durian HK, PR agency Hill&Knowlton and event agency Itchi Events.
It comes as 2023 has posed challenges for many in Hong Kong, including investors. The campaign is designed to spread positivity and well-wishes among Hong Kong residents, aligning with Tiger Brokers' positive and uplifting narrative. The campaign targeted Hong Kong residents, including current and potential clients of Tiger Brokers.
Available from 30 December 2023 to 6 January 2024, the campaign included a mobile wishing trunk that was located in various areas of the city, including Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Causeway Bay and Central.
Participants could take part in an online lucky draw by registering an account with Tiger Brokers. Upon registration, they received a unique QR code that allowed them to visit the mobile wishing trunk and participate in the mobile wish pool. Meanwhile, the online lucky draw is available until 14 January 2024.
In terms of promotion, Tiger Brokers has adopted a multi-channel approach, including in-app promotions, offline events and media coverage. Moreover, the campaign has leveraged OOH coverage, including bus shelter, MTR and sheet displays, as well as social media ad boosting, dark post techniques and digital advertising through platforms such as Google programmatic ads and Yahoo Mini Billboard.
In terms of the measurement of return on investment (ROI), a spokesperson from Tiger Brokers said the total number of registrations for Tiger Brokers (Hong Kong) exceeded the original target of 3,000 people from 15 December 2023 to 6 January 2024. The daily event page exposure has also exceeded the original target.
Lowe Low, brand marketing manager, Tiger Brokers Hong Kong, said: “In the face of the challenges of 2023, our campaign is not just about prizes; it's a narrative of fostering well-wishes, and inspiring individuals to envision a brighter future for themselves, others, and the world.”
“At Tiger Brokers, we're not just chasing company growth; we're curating moments of joy for our clients. Our efforts are not just about metrics; they're about creating a delightful investment experience and helping our clients achieve their dreams of an ideal life,” Low added.

Back in July last year, Tiger Brokers officially launched TigerGPT, an AI-powered chatbot developed among Tiger Brokers' vast internet services, after a series of beta testing since April last year.
Available in markets including Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore, TigerGPT introduces a suite of new features to streamline the process of pre-investment preparation, including personalised stock research that enables investors to filter stocks based on their own criteria, as well as showing trending market topics to help investors to pinpoint the trends in the market.
