TGV Cinemas promotes marketing and sales GM Mohit Bhargava

TGV Cinemas has promoted its GM of marketing and sales, Mohit Bhargava, CMO. With more than 18 years of marketing leadership and business development experience under his belt, Bhargava (pictured) has built a portfolio of working with some of Southeast Asia and Australian media brands. Bhargava has a wealth of experience in marketing analytics, enterprise CRM, eCommerce, omnichannel retail, B2B & B2C retail and media management, among others, his LinkedIn said.

Bhargava joined TGV in July 2020 as GM for marketing and sales, helming the role for more than a year. Before TGV, Bhargava was GM for sales and marketing at BIG4 Holiday Parks of Australia, a holiday park network that represents a portfolio of over 170 properties. According to his LinkedIn, he was based in Melbourne, Australia, and spent almost a year in the company. A+M has reached out to TGV for additional information regarding his role. 

Aside from his experience with theme parks, Bhargava also has prior experience in the cinema and entertainment industry, having spent seven years at Village Roadshow. He joined the company in February 2012 as head of marketing and digital strategy before taking on the role of GM of marketing and sales. Bhargava also had more than four years of experience at Australian entertainment company, NOVA Entertainment, which he joined in 2007 as its digital client manager.

Meanwhile, TGV's former head of digital, CRM and partnership, May Phuah, joined The dUCk Group as its head of marketing During her time at TGV, she led a team of 10 members and managed all corporate marketing functions with an annual budget, which included product/store launch, collateral, advertising, branding, events, digital initiatives, and improvement projects. Under her leadership, the company experienced two times the growth of online sales, according to her LinkedIn.

TGV's former head of brand and communications Yen Ong also took on the head of marketing role at BSH Home Appliances Group in Malaysia last year. She oversees Bosch and Gaggenau in her current role. She was with the cinema operator for more than three years. 

Aside from the movements in its marketing team, TGV named Tan Lay Hian as its executive director and CEO last September to steer the company into the post-COVID future. He was previously chief sales and services officer at Maxis. That same month, the cinema operator opened its doors to consumers. Eight weeks later, it welcomed back over one million Malaysians and commemorated the milestone by rewarding its members with a free Royale Popcorn combo on 2 December 2021. Bhargava said previously that the company was delighted by this milestone.

Months later in December, TGV tied up with Coca-Cola to launch a Royale RM100,000 Bonanza to welcome guests back to the cinema offering gifts with purchase as the holiday season approaches.
