Tenaga Nasional has unveiled a new Deepavali film titled "Arulini, Shining Star," which focuses on tradition, love, and the significance of light.
The storyline draws on the real-life experiences of Malaysian singer Arulini Arumugam, recognised internationally through singing competitions.

The film weaves in elements from the Thirukkural, an important Tamil text by poet Thiruvalluvar, known for its couplets offering ethical and practical life guidance.
This text is shown as a wisdom source provided by Arulini's mother, Dr Khasturi Ramalingam, who imparts these teachings to her daughter during challenging times.
Tenaga Nasional collaborated with Chariot, a creative agency affiliated with Naga DDB, to produce the film, where Arulini and Dr. Khasturi portray themselves in their life roles.
“Our family is always the light that guides us through dark times," said Jarrod Regiland, executive creative director at Chariot Agency. “When we’re surrounded by the people we love, it makes the act of celebrating even more meaningful. It’s a reminder of where we came from, and how much they’ve shaped who we are. For a brand such as Tenaga Nasional, we wanted to share that the love and light of family is the source of life’s greatest happiness and joy."
Tenaga Nasional indicated that the film aligns with its belief in hope, perseverance, and familial bonds, underscoring the narrative's connection with the company's goal of inspiring individuals toward bright, sustainable futures.
"Arulini, Shining Star" is available on TNB’s YouTube channel, and other social media platforms.
This comes shortly after Chariot Agency promoted Gillian Yap to the role of general manager. The appointment marks a significant milestone in Yap's career, having joined the agency as head of account management in 2022.
In her role as general manager, Yap will oversee the agency's day-to-day operations, drive business development, and continue to spearhead high-impact projects.
