TCP-TBWA\Indonesia has parted ways with chief creative officer Gavin Simpson. Simpson (pictured) joined the agency in October 2019, and a TBWA\ spokesperson has confirmed that he is no longer working with the agency. He was tasked to client responsibilities, as well as responsible for developing and training the agency’s talent.
Simpson is no stranger to adland. Before moving to Indonesia for the creative chief role at TBWA\, he was with Ogilvy for over 20 years. Initially in his home market Malaysia, Simpson has also worked in Hong Kong and the Philippines in his stint with the agency. He left his role as Ogilvy Malaysia's chief creative officer early in 2018.
He has also had stints at Naga DDB, Leo Burnett Indonesia and Y&R Malaysia before it merged with VML to form VMLY&R. Simpson did not respond to Marketing Interactive's queries on his next move.
During his hire, Saumyajit Banerjee, CEO, TCP-TBWA\Indonesia said the agency was looking forward to welcoming Simpson to the collective. He added that Simpson had a strong vision and drive.
Meanwhile, Chris Garbutt, worldwide chief creative officer TBWA\Worldwide, had said that Simpson was an exciting hire for the agency.
