TBWA\ Indonesia has appointed Bryan Siy as its new executive creative director. In his new role, Siy will lead the creative department at the agency in partnership with its chief executive officer, Soum Banarjee.

Siy (pictured) was previously with TBWA\SMP in Philippines, where he last helmed the role of executive creative director. He left in August 2020 after being with the agency for over 14 years. He first joined TBWA in the Philippines in 2006 as associate creative director, and subsequently got promoted to creative director and then executive creative director, according to his LinkedIn. Siy also previously served as an associate creative director at BBDO, and had stints at McCann and Lowe (before its merger to become Mullenlowe) as copywriter.

During his time at TBWA\SMP, Siy was the brains behind several creative films. His LinkedIn profile showed that in 2019, he created a film for UNICEF to drive conversations about online child abuse in the Philippines. The film reached over two million people in 24 hours, and over 54.6 million people around the world in total. Siy also created a film titled "Disgusting Stories" using actual illustrations of abused children in 2018. The film reached 141 million people in 16 countries in the span of a day. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to TBWA\ Indonesia for additional information.

Siy's appointment comes shortly after TBWA\ Indonesia promoted its former executive creative director, Roy Sagala, to chief creative officer. Sagala was previously the executive creative director at Havas Worldwide Jakarta for more than five years and prior to that, ECD at Ogilvy Indonesia and Publicis Indonesia, according to his LinkedIn. He has also worked at Lowe Indonesia, Y&R and Bubu.com.

In a previous conversations with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Sagala said creativity will always be the agency's superpower and data will be its compass to create more iconic work that elevates brands to new heights in the market. "Compelling narratives and storytelling remains paramount, and I'll continue to use my industry experience in both strategic planning and creative, to lead the team to generate powerful ideas that answer clients' business challenges and objectives," he added.
